Batch Uploading Local Videos From Server

Here is the first Video Tutorial showing giving you the first look of the Jomtube Video Component. What the video will be showing is the ability to BATCH ADD many videos at one time. This was important feature as I have thousands of videos that are located on my Server that i needed to add.

I will briefly cover what the video tutorial will show. Basically I renamed all the Video Files on my computer to a name that i wanted the video to be identified with. This is important because the name will be used for the Video Title and also for the Video Description when you batch upload the videos.

Next step is you upload the all the video files with a FTP client to your Server. The files must be uploaded to the specified directory /public_html/jomtubefiles/_batch_upload because that is where JomTube Video Component will look for the Videos files to move to the proper Category Directory and to the Database.

Once all the Files Are uploaded then you can goto the JomTube Video Component Backend and prepare to Add the videos. In the example video I uploaded 14 video files in the .FLV video format to the /_batch_upload directory. Then I goto the BACKEND where I Selected the Video Category I wanted the video files to be Added to which was Wrestling Takedowns.

From the Backend you have some options you must set:

  • Select Video Category To Add Videos to
  • Have Videos Published YES/NO
  • If Video Will Be Able To Be Downloaded
  • Tag Words That Will Be Added to each of the Videos
  • Date That Will Be Displayed When the Video Was Added
  • You Can Enter a specified UserID if you want the Videos to Associated and Displayed as the Author
