1.0.5x UPDATE INSTALLATION DIRECTIONSBACKUP YOUR DATABASE IF YOUR GOING TO UPDATE
Be sure you know the version you have and ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR DATABASE before you update from an older version. To Update from Jomtube Video Gallery 1.0.5x then there is are 2 Steps. STEP 1 goto the JOOMLA BACKNED and UNINSTALL the Jomtube Video Component 1.0.5x. STEP 2 install the new Jomtube Video Component 1.0.6x that you downloaded above and it will install and keep all your Previous Database and Settings as they will not be overwritten.
If you are still using the First Beta Release which was 1.0.0x then read below on how to update as the directions are different if you wish to keep your Jomtube Database information.
1.0.0x UPDATE INSTALLATION DIRECTIONSIf you want to UPDATE your current install of JomTube and do not want to ovewrite database then follow the procedure below. As basically you just need to download and copy the 2 files to your server before you UNINSTALL your current version on JOMTUBE VIDEO as you need to go copy the uninstall.mysql.nonutf8.sql and uninstall.mysql.utf8.sql to administrator\components\com_jomtube\sql beforw uninstall component.
BACKUP YOUR DATABASE IF YOUR GOING TO UPDATE
- Right Click SAVE AS this file uninstall.mysql.nonutf8.sql to your hard drive
- Right Click SAVE AS this file uninstall.mysql.utf8.sql to your hard drive
- Use a FTP or other client and upload these files to your server administrator\components\com_jomtube\sql\ and overwrite the old files with new ones.
- Next Go Uninstall JomTube Component and it should have installed all the files but have left your Database settings
- Download the new Version of JomTube Component above and Install in the Joomla in the BACKEND as normal and you should be good to go..
